At Shakespeare Home Improvement Co., we strive to build a relationship from the very first meeting – a relationship that will not only last through the completion of your project, but will be a lasting relationship for years to come. Shakespeare’s team of highly qualified professionals have been doing home improvements in Lancaster County, PA since 1998.
We want you to know that we stand behind all of our work. That is why we provide a 2-year workmanship warranty on all of our projects. Our clients are our greatest asset and your satisfaction is our #1 priority.
Design-Build Specialty Service
The term design-build refers to the ability of the contractor to act as both designer and builder on your project. With the design-build process, there is a level of communication and detail not usually found in other building processes. This is because having one point of contact for the homeowner curtails the chance for misinterpretation or miscommunication from various parties.
We take full responsibility for the project, and we will never design something that our team can’t build. In addition, if unexpected conditions are encountered during the building phase, we can usually modify the plans quickly and professionally. As a result, there will be little to no delays in the project schedule.
Our Home Improvement Process for Every Project:
1Initial Contact / Meeting
You’ve been dreaming about that beautiful kitchen renovation, or that desperately needed bathroom makeover, or maybe you want to take that dingy basement and turn it into a useful, comfortable extension of your living space. No matter whether it’s a small bathroom renovation or a large addition project, we will take the time to understand every detail of the vision for your space.
Our salesman will meet you at your home to discuss everything in detail. We will need approximately 1 hour for this initial meeting and all decision makers should be present, if possible.
We will be discussing your needs, expectations, apprehensions, and budget constraints. Also, if you have any drawings, inspirational pictures, or just general notes, our salesman will review these with you to get the best possible idea of your dream vision for your space!
2Presentation / Contract Meeting
After reviewing your project in detail, we will prepare a detailed written proposal. It will outline the scope of work and a fixed price for your project. Additionally, on the larger projects that are much harder to envision (like kitchens and additions), we will also show you detailed drawings of your new space. This is to ensure we have interpreted your requirements down to every detail.
We invite you to call and make an appointment to review your proposal, show you some of your options for materials, and to address any questions/concerns you may have. Once the proposal is agreed upon and signed by all parties, this becomes the guideline for your project and any drawings that were done are included in the price with the signed contract.
3Selections Phase / Pre-construction
Now this is where the fun begins! At this point in time where you will be choosing out your materials. We will be there to help you decide on final selections such as lighting, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, faucets, fixtures, etc.
After all your selections are finalized, we will begin the process of ordering your materials. Your project will then be handed over to our Project Coordinator. They will finalize a reasonable project schedule and finish preparing your project for production.
4Construction Phase
Now it starts to get very exciting! All the hard work during the planning and selection phase will now begin to take shape. Our Project Coordinator will be your daily point of contact. They will guide you through any questions, concerns, and possible schedule alterations and/or change orders.
Our professional crew will provide you with smiles, expert craftsmanship, and the cleanest, safest job site possible. We understand that remodeling projects can be stressful and that much of that stress can be eliminated with timely communication. That’s why we communicate with our clients on a daily basis during every stage of the project. Communicating what’s already been done and what’s coming next.
We firmly believe that clear and consistent communication is the key to a smoothly run project.
5Project Completion / Punch List
Close to the end of your project, we will schedule the final walk-through with our Project Coordinator and salesman. They will work with you to comprise a final punch list (if needed) and we will work quickly to resolve all items on that list.
We will also ask you several questions about the process and see if you have any suggestions that could have made the process better. We will also follow up with a final Customer Satisfaction Survey for you to complete at your leisure. Our clients give the best feedback about where to focus our improvement efforts.
